The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis. "There has been a felt need for scientific research in the small college field. This is a study of intramural athletics for men in an attempt to set up a program suitable for a typical small college. Emphasis was given to the following aspects: (1) history and growth, (2) objectives, (3) administration, (4) sports program, (5) training periods, (6) and rules and regulations applicable to the program."
