abstract
The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis. "The World War has changed the attitudes of many American people. It has given some a new aversion to self-indulgence, indifference, idleness and mere pleasure; and to others, it has given a slowly forming positive purpose. H.B. Wilson says; 'The Great War made large contributions in the shaping of our educational program through showing us the valuable and indispensable in education in contrast with the ordinary and commonplace, and through emphasizing the balanced views and true relationships that education should seek to establish'".
