abstract
The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis. "School administrators and supervisors are coming more and more to realize the existence of a problem to which they have as yet given very little attention. It has become quite a general thing, in some states at least, for high schools to offer teacher training courses as a part of their regular curriculum. In the states where such a procedure is regular, the teacher training courses of the high schools of those states have become the leading and most popular courses. They are not more inferior to the regular, academic, commercial, or industrial courses. In the great majority of the high schools, due no doubt in large measure to the supervision exercised over them by the state departments of education, the teacher training courses are the outstanding and most important courses of the high schools."

State Teachers College of Colorado is a former name of the University of Northern Colorado.
