abstract
The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis. "Definition – Classical, literary, scientific and industrial are terms very well understood by the average educated man or woman as applied to schemes and programs of education. But, the question is asked quite frequently, just what is meant by commercial education? It is that form of instruction that both directly and indirectly prepares the future business man or woman for his calling. Commercial education first of all develops and broadens the intellect. However, it does not stop with this important step; it prepares the boy or girl for immediate usefulness; it prepares for entry in to the avenues of business careers; it prepares for usefulness and efficiency as a home-maker or as a citizen.”
