abstract
The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis. "If we set out to make a curriculum, we must first find out what is of greatest value for us to know. What kind of training should our children be given if they are to take their place in the activities of life on the highest possible plane? It is probably true that almost all knowledge has some value for something, but there is so much knowledge that is of very little value that to accomplish their purpose the schools must make a very careful study of relative values of knowledge and place emphasis upon that of greatest value. These relative values can be determined by showing their bearing upon some part of life’s activities that are necessary and important for us to practice. Our educational objectives must be set up scientifically. They are specific and based upon definite aims."
